The Sound Progression project was funded by The Arts Council and the South Wales Police amongst others and it gave people initially in the age range of 17 -23 , which widened later, the opportunity to write, produce and record music and promote themselves online and in live performances.
My work with the project was to produce a main website for the project – shown below, several websites for the acts involved and to promote Sound Progression through social networking. These were updated (at the time) on a regular basis by myself as the websites were built using a content management system and needed to reflect the music that was being made and the live events.
A twitter account was set up, myspace account, facebook page, youtube channel and I reguarly got to go out to the live performances and take a few pictures, film a few live videos, type some stuff and talk to some people in the outside world.
Sound Progression was my first paid webwork and I’m very grateful to Paul Lyons ( Cardiff DJ legend, now producer) for giving me the opportunity to get some practical paid experience at the very start.
